-
Dancers must be 8 years old by August 31st in order to audition. Click here to register.
-
-
Which styles will I be auditioning for?
-
All dancers will audition for tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, & lyrical.
-
- What should I wear to auditions?
-
-
Dancers may wear any dance clothing that they would like. Bring all of the dance shoes you own so that you can audition in confidence. Wear something comfortable and that you feel awesome dancing in. For hip hop, you may layer on a t-shirt/sweats but this is not required. We just want you to feel great! Hair must be pulled back into a ponytail or bun.

-
-
Do I have to audition for every style offered at auditions? Do I have to audition for a style if I have never taken it?
-
Yes, your choreographers have decided that all dancers will continue to audition for every style no matter what. We feel this helps develop a more well-rounded dancer and will prepare students for future auditions. This means, dancers must bring all of their dance shoes.
-
-
What if I cannot make it to auditions?
-
Dancers interested in being part of company are required to attend auditions on June 7th from 10-1.
-
-
When will the schedule for the fall season be out?
-
We are anticipating a release date of June 15, 2025. Priority and New Student Registration dates are TBA but are typically scheduled for one week after the release date.
-
-
When will I find out if I made it into company?
-
We will not announce company decisions until the fall schedule is out. If there are scheduling conflicts, this will allow us to make changes prior to company decisions.
-
-
If I audition for company, do I have to accept my spot?
-
We expect dancers who audition to accept their place in pieces that are offered to them. *You may not pick and choose what is offered to you.
-
-
Can I have a solo?
-
Solos, along with our duos, trios, and groups, are cast based on the audition performance. Dancers who we feel have proven themselves to be hard workers in classes, in past rehearsals, and/or the audition all plays a part in casting. Displaying the characteristics of a great teammate, a great student, and committed company dancer throughout the year are important factors that affect casting. Dancers are permitted to request to NOT have a solo if they prefer this.
-
-
Can I choreograph my own solo?
-
No. This is not something Coalesce currently allows.
-
-
What is the time commitment for company members for weekly classes and rehearsals?
-
Company dancers are required to enroll in at least one level-appropriate ballet class in addition to two other technique classes for the season. Pre-Pointe & Pointe classes do not count toward this total. Rehearsals will be held on Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays- but more heavily on Saturdays when possible.
-
-
Which events do company members attend? What is the time commitment for events?
-
The competitions and conventions that we hope to attend have not publicly confirmed dates yet. As soon as those are available, they will be announced. We plan to attend one convention as a team, as well as three competitions, and a single one-day convention. Other opportunities, such as optional workshops/conventions/competitions may be offered but will not be required.

I am a little nervous. Any advice?
-
The Company Audition process at Coalesce is so fun and exciting but can be nerve-wracking. We get it! We want to see each dancer do their best and have fun. Auditions are so much more than dance- so, be sure to arrive on time, communicate any needs, ask questions, and be respectful of both dancers and choreographers in the room. These qualities are noticed and appreciated by our staff. With so many new choreographers and faces joining us this season, we are going to have a BLAST!
-
-
What will be included in the Pre-Audition Form? When will it be sent?
-
The Pre-Audition Form will contain all available pricing/due dates for choreography/rehearsals, anticipated events (with dates if available,) parent and dancer expectations for the season, class requirements, and more. Not all event-specific questions can be answered at this time, as some details are still being finalized.
